Four Reasons You Should Try Dungeon Leveling

Dungeon leveling came to World of Warcraft with patch 3.3, and it truly is the fastest way to power level your character. The dungeon finder now makes it easy for anyone to find dungeon groups at any time of day. Here are four reasons you should try dungeon leveling.

  1. More Experience— Instance leveling gets you far more experience than power leveling through solo quests, and there are several reasons for this. First, your down time is kept to a minimum. You’ll get many more average kills per second and spend a lot less time trying to track down your corpse after you die. In fact, you’ll find that you probably don’t die as often because you have four other players helping you.

Completing the dungeon quests is also a very important part of dungeon leveling. Blizzard has increased the rewards you get for running the dungeons, granting double the experience for dungeon quests. It means you’ll have to run twice as many solo quests to get the same amount of experience you’ll get from the dungeon quests.

  1. Better Rewards— Dungeon leveling also gives you access to much better rewards. You’ll find that the drops you get from killing the bosses inside of the dungeons are much better quality than the drops you’ll get from solo questing. Better gear will make you more powerful, which, in turn, makes power leveling your character even easier. You’ll also find that the rewards for completing dungeon quests are of much higher quality than the rewards you get for turning in solo quests. Instead of gear that’s made up entirely of green items, you’ll have a chance to get the highest quality blue items that are available for your current level.
  2. More Fun— Instance leveling is also much more fun than playing by yourself. You get a chance to interact with players from other servers and learn how to work as part of a team. Before the dungeon finder, many players didn’t set foot in a single dungeon until they reached level 80. Most of these players got all the way to level 80 without a full understanding of the three roles needed for every group: rank, healer, and DPS, also known simply as damage. Dungeon leveling will truly unlock the fun that was meant to be had by all.
  3. More Gold— Instance leveling also gives you a great new way to make gold. All of the old gold guides are out of date now that the dungeon finder exists. Sure, you can farm your way to plenty of gold, but dungeon leveling gives you unique access to enchanting materials whenever you happen to have a player who has the enchanting profession. Enchanting materials always bring in gold on the auction house, and rolling to disenchant green items that you don’t need is a great way to get these materials to sell. You also get gold with every single kill, so naturally the amount of gold you make is much higher since you’re killing more monsters per second.

Death Knight Leveling Guide

Once you have created your Death Knight you will see that you have no talent points yet. That can be quite weird for a level 55 character but you shouldn’t worry. The quests in and around the Ebon Hold will all give you talent points. But how exactly should you use these to level up your Death Knight really fast?

Well, that’s what this guide is about. I will explain which talent build is nice and for what reason.

Death Knight Leveling Guide

To start with I must say that the Death Knight is a great class that has nice abilities like a pet, great damaging spells, plate armor and heavy normal attacks. The talent trees are Blood, Frost, and Unholy.

What you are looking for while leveling is a build that allows you to continue fighting and speed you up in any other way possible. That’s the reason why I say that a Blood/Unholy build would be the best for leveling. Assuming that you will level solo, I have made the following build and you will see that this build is great for solo leveling:

Death Knight Leveling Guide

Let’s start with the Blood talents. Butchery is just great for leveling and should be taken no matter which build you decide to make if you want to level fast. Then you got some nice talents that improve your damage and then you see Rune Tap and the Improved Rune Tap talent. This is one of those talents that will keep you going because it will restore your HP. Then you have Vendetta, Mark of Blood, Blood Worms, Blood Aura, and Vampiric Blood that will also help you to keep your hit points up. With all these talents you basically can’t die while leveling.

With Hysteria, Hearth Strike, Might of Mograine, Blood Gorged and Dancing Rune Weapon you will have great damaging abilities.

The reason you should focus on Unholy a bit as well is that you will become a bit more effective when it comes to AoE damage with Morbidity and Corpse Explosion. Then you have a 5% Dodge chance through Anticipation and some extra stats from Shadow of Death. The reduced cooldown on Death Grip is also very handy. Last but definitely not least is On a Pale Horse. This talent is great for leveling and will reduce your traveling time. A side effect of this nice leveling talent is that your stun and fear effects will be reduced by 20%.

Altogether you can say that this build will keep you going because of all the health gaining abilities the Blood tree has to offer. The Blood tree also has a few nice damaging abilities while the Unholy tree adds a bit of AoE damage and reduces your traveling time. Nice thing about this talent tree is that you are also capable to deal with opponents in PvP situations, which is especially nice on PvP realms.

Beginners guide to the Auction House

Dear players, this guide is made in the purpose of helping you out when it comes to the economy in World of Warcraft. You will be able to learn how to use the all mighty Auction House and how to make the best purchase and bargain. Let’s start with the Auction House itself.

Wow’s Auction House has been a subject of envy for all players that were playing other mmorpgs, simply because it was the best made solution for players. Auction Houses or in short AHs can be found only in the capital cities in the old map of Azeroth: Stormwind, Darnassus, Ironforge and Exodar on the Aliance side and Undercity, Ogrimmar, Thunderbluff and Silvermoon City for the Horde side.

How to use the Auction House

Once you get to the AH you should click on one of the Auctioneers. On the left side you will see the categories of items and goods you can search through. By clicking in example on the Weapons you will have listed sub-categories which will of course make your search easier. On the upper frame you will see a text box for the following: Name, Level – Range and a drop down menu where it says All. Depending on what kind of quality item you are looking for you could narrow your search to: poor, uncommon, common, rare or epic items by clicking under the All tab. If you want to search through all you should just leave it as it is and click on the Search button on the right side. Searching through all items is never advisable since there are so many items on the AH and you have a good chance of getting lost. If you know the exact name of the item you are looking for type it in the Name text box and click on Search. The list of all available items currently on the AH will be shown. On the down side you have the link to go to the next page/pages.

There is an option to see how an item would look on you i.e. armor and weapons. Hold CTRL key and left click on the item and you will be able to see it. This option is popularly called “the dressing room”. When buying an item you should make sure to check its price. The Buyout price is the maximum price and by selecting an item and clicking on the Buyout button located at the bottom of the AH window you will be able to purchase an item right away.

The first price that you see is the price that you can bid. You can bid by clicking on the Bid button also located in the bottom of the AH window. If you want to get an item for the cheaper price you should definitely bid but expect that other players will do the same so it can be a long chase. When you bid the amount of gold that you have bid with is taken from you but if somebody outbids you the same amount is returned to you via mail. If you manage to buy the item without being outbid the item will be sent to you also through mail when the time of that particular auction expires.

If you would like to sell an item, click on the Auctions tab on the left side at the bottom of the AH window. Place an item in the Auction item slot; fill in the Starting price and the Buyout price and the check the length of your Auction duration. You can put 12 hours for short, 24 hours for long and 48 hours for very long auction. It is advisable that you check the prices on the same item before you make your own auction, lower your price a bit and then put it on. If the item is sold you will get the gold on your email with a small percentage fee that the AH takes. If the item isn’t sold it will return to you when the auction expires.

You could always monitor your bids and auctions by clicking on the Bids and Auctions tabs.

Hunter Leveling Guide

Hunters are known to be one of the easiest, if not easiest class to level. Send in your pet, put autofire on, go for a coffee, come back and see that your pet didn’t only kill the mob you wanted him to attack but also 3 other mobs that attacked you while you were AFK. No but seriously, a Hunter is easy to level.

How do your maximize your efficiency though and reach the level cap as soon as possible? The answer is quite easy for this one; The Beast Mastery Tree.

The Beast Mastery talent build will make your pet a lot stronger and this will make it easier for your pet to keep the enemy NPC’s attacking him while you do steady damage with your ranged weapon.

Here you can see a nice leveling build for a Hunter:
Hunter Leveling Build

Choose Hawk Eye and Lethal Shots to boost your damage and range a bit.

From the Beast Mastery talent tree you can skip Imp Aspect of the Monkey because you will not be the one taking the hits. Imp Revive Pet isn’t necessary for leveling. I would choose to put only one point into Imp Mend Pet because of the Dispelling purpose.

Thick Hide isn’t bad at all but I would rather go with some damage abilities instead of some bonus armor.
When you choose this build your pet will receive:

+10% Health

+10% Crit

+100% Focus Regeneration

+9% Dodge

+10% Attack speed

+15% Damage

+10% Movement speed

+4 Additional Skill points

This all together with a lot of nice abilities that will be gained in this talent tree like Intimidation, which make the pet stun a target and creates a high amount of threat, Bestial Wrath, which causes the pet to do 50% (!) bonus damage for 18 seconds.

The Hunter himself will also receive quite a few nice boosts through this talent tree like 20% Attack Speed, 5% Health, Improved Aspects and other nice boosts given through the pets abilities.

Besides these abilities the Hunter and his pet will also move around the areas quicker because the Aspect of the Cheetah and Aspect of the Pack abilities will become more effective, a 10% mounted speed increase is given as well as a 10% bonus to their normal running speed.

Another nice thing of this talent tree is that the Hunter can Tame some creatures that otherwise could not be Tamed.

Al together, the Beast Mastery talent tree is the way to go. The Marksmanship talent tree looks nice and it definitely gives a great boost to the Hunters damage. However, you will notice that your pet can’t keep the mobs on him and that they will come for you, which makes it all a bit less nice. The Survival talent tree is nice at later levels, especially for PvP.

Warrior Leveling Guide

Some players really enjoy tanking and see no problem in leveling their Warrior as a Protection Warrior. Shield Slam and Revenge do decent damage and also Shockwave is nice at later levels. If you want to speed up your leveling though, you should definitely explore the Fury talent tree. Two one-handed weapons should be used until you can equip two two-handed weapons.

I have made two builds. One will also take the Impale and Deep Wounds of Arms while the other is even more focused on Fury. It is up to your preferences which ones you would choose.

Warrior Leveling Build With a Little Arms

Warrior Leveling Build Fury + Imp Charge

I would advise you to at least first take Improved Charge in the Arms Tree. Then you can continue with 5% crit rating in the Fury tree and go on down from there. Aim to get Death Wish, Precision and Weapon Mastery asap so you don’t miss that often and Deathwish is a nice damage boost. Flurry is extremely nice and after you take this ability you really get that ‘Rogue-in-plate’ feeling because you really make sushi out of your opponents.
Next in line is Blood Thirst which does not only do a great amount of damage, but also restores health over time. This ability is just great for leveling because it is one of the few life-giving abilities a Warrior has.

Now you will get to choose between some nice damage dealing abilities. Do move down in the tree though and pick up the remaining ones at later levels. Get Rampage as soon as possible, it is a great ability that boosts your damage significantly and only costs one talent point.

You can see that Blizzard wanted to improve the ever so useless Slam ability of the Warrior and you can see that they succeeded. You will have a 20% to instant cast Slam and its damage gets improved to. Whirlwind and Cleave as well get a damage boost in this three which makes the Warrior more capable to deal with multiple mobs at once.

Finally you got Titan’s Grip. Man did I love to see my Warrior looking badass with two two-handed weapons. Of course, it doesn’t only look great but it will also give you a whole different game play. Ok, you will need to get a lot of hit rating to make up for the hit rating loss but it is kinda cool that the Warrior, the weapon master that always could wield all weapons, can now wield two two-handed weapons instead of the Death Knights in example, which the words once spread before the release of WoTLK.

Are You Doing these 3 things Wrong while Leveling?

Leveling in WoW is a time consuming process. Starts off quick then slows down as you gain in levels. Some players might reach 80 in 3 days. 3 DAYS! Amazing. But for the rest of us here are some tips that we could be doing wrong that are slowing us down.

1. Gold Farming – Stop. Stop wasting so much time farming for gold. You are just wasting time and don’t need much until you hit the higher levels. Most of the gold you need can be gathered on quests. If you are still short then use mining and skinning skills to gather as you level.

2. Not speccing your talents – Your talents are a vital part of getting better levels in World of Warcraft. If you really want to level faster you need to spec in a way that will support leveling speed, not tanking or healing. Talk to others and check the wikis to see what specs are best for your class.

3. Not Questing – Always have a quest while you are playing. Quests award huge XP bumps as you gain levels and will help you get higher faster. Make sure to have fun while playing also but doing quests will help out.

If you are doing these 3 things you are wasting time and effort leveling the slow way. Make these changes and you will have a better idea of how fast you will be able to reach 80.

Do You Know if Your Class Has What it Takes?

There are 10 very different classes in World of Warcraft, bringing in a ton of different strategies and tools to make gameplay more interesting. However, if you’re just getting used to a new class or are just not having a good time with an old junk Class, you need to determine what you’re doing wrong and how to develop better strategies for your situation.

• Does Your Talent Spec Work for You – Start by analyzing your spec. Your talents might be completely out of whack or maybe just a talent or two away from being perfect. Whatever the case, make sure to rethink how you spec your talents and choose a way to build your character that matches what you’re doing with it. See wikis and your fellow player for tips on which talent specs will work best for you.

• What Kind of Rotation Are you Using – Next up, make sure you have a good shot rotation. Each character class is designed to have an ideal makeup that will allow them to deal higher damage, or heal for more or stay alive longer. Learn what it is and then learn how to adjust that rotation under duress. You want to maximize output, while keeping from running out of mana or whatever you need to perform those attacks.

• Gear and Item Check – Finally, you need to check out your gear and items. There are so many options in there to choose from, but if you have blue gear going into a raid, no wonder you’re having trouble. Check what you can afford and what is available and then max out your stats as much as possible. These are the things you need to be doing to be topped out for your class.

Every class in the game is designed to let players excel in exciting, different ways. If you don’t actually spend the time necessary to learn your class though and tweak them to the degree that is necessary for optimal play, you’ll never be able to get to those upper echelons of excellence. So, what options do you have? To start with, you can practice. Second, find other class members to help you out. Finally, get some good strategies off of forums and wikis to help you choose talents and get the right gear. Only with the right information will you ever truly succeed.
